Young Ambassadors Wales

Overview

Young Ambassadors Wales is a youth leadership movement dedicated to inspiring and developing the future leaders of Wales through sport, physical activity, and play. By providing young people with positive opportunities and meaningful experiences, the programme fosters growth through hands-on leadership and empowers participants to have a voice in shaping initiatives that encourage others to lead healthy, active lives. It is funded by Sport Wales and the National Lottery.

Evidence of Need

To enable sport in Wales to thrive, we need to give young people a voice to influence the choices available for them to be healthier and more active in school, club, and community settings.

Children and young people in Wales are among the most inactive in the world, with many not meeting UK physical activity guidelines of being active for 60 minutes per day across the week.

Therefore, we want to reverse this trend by ensuring young people are consulted and collaborated with to co-produce physical activities that they can lead to their peers.
