This year event co-ordinators are being inspired to make their activities greener. A new toolkit created by BG Be Active and supported by the European School Sport Day partners features practical activity ideas and information about green education and how to organise school sport without waste.
The toolkit is centred around the school as a primary setting for spreading important messages about green, eco-friendly, and sustainable school sport events, with tips including;
- Exploring green spaces around your school for your sports activities
- Making your activities waste-free
- Plogging – that’s environmentally-friendly jogging! (picking up litter as you go)
- Making your school environment better together – collect and dispose of waste on your school grounds or get digging to add some new plants or trees!
As one of the founding partners of ESSD, YST International encourages schools to take part in the event which is officially a recognised associated event of National School Sport Week.
