At What Cost: Primary PE and Sport Premium Research Report

New research among primary schools highlights the potential consequences for young people and school sport if the £320 million ringfenced funding is not confirmed.

Primary schools are awaiting clarity on the future of the £320 million Primary PE and Sport Premium funding. In response to a decision delay, the Youth Sport Trust has undertaken new research to look at what could be lost as a result of this critical funding delay.

Schools, sports organisations and young campaigners are warning that millions of children may lose opportunities to play sport, learn how to swim and stay active, seeing dire consequences for their health and wellbeing, with school sport facing a looming crisis.

This report is part of the ‘At What Cost’ campaign and is accompanied by new analysis of the School Games Organiser network which is also facing uncertainty.
