Youth Sport Trust Teams Up with kitround and David Lloyd Clubs for 2025 Kit Collection Campaign

David Lloyd Clubs’ members are encouraged to donate their sports kit throughout April to raise money for the Youth Sport Trust charity and bring pre-loved sportswear back into the game.

The Youth Sport Trust is proud to announce the return of their partnership with kitround and David Lloyd Clubs for their 2025 kit collection and fundraising campaign. Throughout April 2025, kitround, in collaboration with David Lloyd Clubs, will aim to collect 12,000 items of pre-loved sports kit across 104 David Lloyd Clubs nationwide, as part of their work to remove barriers to sport, reduce waste and support grassroots and community initiatives.

Following the success of the 2024 De-clutter and Do Good campaign from kitround, Visa and David Lloyd Clubs, the Youth Sport Trust charity has again been selected to benefit from for the 2025 initiative. This month, David Lloyd Clubs’ members are encouraged to donate their pre-loved sports kit at designated kitbins in Clubs across the country. These donated items will be sold at affordable prices via the kitround website, with proceeds going towards the Youth Sport Trust’s efforts to improve the lives of children and young people through the power of play and sport.

The campaign aims to build on last year’s success, where 7,000 items were collected, generating an incredible £40,000 in total for three charities, including the Youth Sport Trust.

Wendy Carter from kitround said: “We are so pleased with the success we have seen so far with the 2025 kitdrive campaign with David Lloyd Clubs. By extending the life of sports gear, we help reduce waste, lower financial barriers, and ensure that more people can engage in sport. This initiative keeps kit and equipment in circulation, contributes to a more sustainable and inclusive future, and raises awareness and support for vital charities like the Youth Sport Trust who are working to make a difference in the lives of young people."

Russell Barnes, David Lloyd Clubs CEO commented; “We’re proud to support an initiative that not only emphasizes the importance of recycling, but also helps raise funds for a great charity like the Youth Sport Trust, enabling more young people to participate in sport, supporting them in leading healthier and happier lives. Thanks to the generosity of our members, over 7,000 pre-loved items were donated last year and we’re confident we’ll surpass that number this year."

Ali Oliver MBE, CEO of the Youth Sport Trust, said: "We are incredibly excited and grateful to once again be the charity partner for this fantastic campaign. Too many children are unable to enjoy the life changing benefits of play and sport due to barriers which prevent access or leave them feeling out of place.  Access to kit and equipment is one of those barriers and this campaign is a brilliant way to ‘play it forward’! In addition, the funds raised through this initiative will be invaluable in supporting our work towards ensuring all young people, regardless of background, have access to high-quality sporting opportunities and the numerous benefits it offers for their heath, wellbeing, and development."

David Lloyd Clubs members are encouraged to donate their sports kit throughout April at any participating club.
