It's time to get your game face on because National School Sports Week is back and it's going to be better than ever!
We're thrilled to be launching National School Sports Week, dedicated to the physical, mental, and social wellbeing of children and young people through 60 minutes a day of PE, Sport, and Play. From the 17th to 23rd of June, we will be igniting the field with passion and energy, all powered by the exciting Monster Kickabout from Sports Direct, which is aiming to 'put the ALL back into football.'
Since its inception in 2008, National School Sports Week has been the heartbeat of promoting PE, physical activity, and school sports, helping to nurture young talents to reach their full potential. This year's theme, powered by Monster Kickabout, introduces a special Euro 2024 event, merging your favourite sports with academic subjects to engage young minds in active learning.
Schools, families, organisations, and supportive partners – everyone is welcome to join the fun! Register today to unlock free equipment, resources, and lesson plans co-created by Youth Sport Trust, Sports Direct, and the brilliant minds from North Kent College.
Ali Oliver, CEO at Youth Sport Trust said:
"We're delighted to be launching National School Sports Week in partnership with Sports Direct for 2024. With Monster Kickabout as the theme, we want to use the backdrop of the Euros, Olympics and Paralympics this summer to inspire children to not only kick footballs, but play fun games like kick-tennis and foot-golf! It promises to be an amazing fun filled week.
With less than half of all children and young people in the UK meeting the UK’s Chief Medical Officers’ guideline of 60 minutes of physical activity each day, too many are missing out on the lifechanging benefits of play and sport. National School Sports Week is the perfect opportunity to tackle this, by building happier children and healthier learners.”
Registration opens on April 15th, with activities running every day from June 17th to 23rd.
Don't miss out on this opportunity to champion physical activity and wellbeing for our young people. Find out more and sign up here.
