Young Changemaker Awards 2024

On World Children’s Day (20 November), the Youth Sport Trust celebrated the incredible achievements of young changemakers at the Young Changemaker Awards 2024, sponsored by the LEGO® Group. Held at Tobacco Dock, London, the event saw sporting stars, including the charity’s National School Sport Champion Sir Mo Farah CBE, honour young heroes using sport to transform lives through resilience and leadership.

The awards were hosted by Youth Sport Trust Champion Radzi Chinyanganya with celebrity award presenters including former England rugby star Shaunagh Brown, Paralympian Hannah Cockroft OBE, and Olympian Luke Greenbank.

The Awards, sponsored by the LEGO® Group, celebrated young people who, working alongside the Youth Sport Trust (in the UK and overseas), have changed their life and the lives of others through sport over the past year.

Among the recipients of this year's awards were Ouskh, a child refugee from Gambia, whose incredible story is one of resilience and passion, harnessing the power of sport to unite communities, and Luca who returned to active sport with determination after battling a brain tumour.

Ali Oliver MBE, Youth Sport Trust Chief Executive comments: “The Youth Sport Trust is incredibly proud of the young changemakers from across the UK we are celebrating today. These young people are shining examples of the power of play and sport to change lives and significantly the role Young changemakers can have on the world. Whether as role models, influencers or activists they are helping create the change their generation wants to see in the world.
