We work with politicians nationally, regionally and locally to raise awareness of the importance of physical activity for children and young people, pushing for change so all can achieve the recommended 60 active daily minutes.
We can provide research findings, insights from our programme delivery and update about our work and impact on children and young people, at both national and local level.
To find out more about our work, arrange a meeting or visit, please contact our Head of Policy & Public Affairs at [email protected]
Ways you can support children and young people include:
- Visiting a school to take part in or observe a PE lesson or school sport club
- Speaking to young people about why being physically active matters to them
- Championing physical activity including PE, sport and play for children in Parliament
- Taking part in the annual National School Sports Week each June
Mo’s Mission
Sir Mo Farah CBE, one of the UK’s most successful Olympians, is our National School Sport Champion. He is leading ‘Mo’s Mission’ with the Youth Sport Trust to guarantee every child 60 minutes a day of PE, sport and play.
Sir Mo Farah said;
"Every young person should grow-up happy, healthy and with the opportunity to achieve their full potential. Ensuring they are physically active for 60-minutes a day is an important part of making this happen.
"Too few children in the UK are exercising regularly and it’s having a detrimental impact on their health and wellbeing. In my new role as National School Sport Champion, it is my mission to get as many young people moving on a daily basis as possible. The power of sport helped me find my passion as a young person, so I’m firmly encouraging kids across the UK to get involved in ‘60 minutes a day - of PE, sport and play.’"
