Movement has no age limit

Generations Uniting through Movement (GUM) is a European Union (EU) funded intergenerational project that aims to increase physical activity between young people and older people.

During 2023, pilot programmes were set up across Europe which bring together younger people aged 16 to 24 years and older people aged 65 + to take part in physical activity sessions. One such pilot instigated by BG Be Active and led by Spituana Necheva, a devoted nutritionist and project coordinator, has united seniors and younger participants at a pensioners' club in Markovo, promoting both physical well-being and a sense of community through gentle exercise and health education.
