Programme Background

Children’s charity the Youth Sport Trust is leading a consortium of organisations commissioned by the Department for Education which aims to improve the quality of schools’ physical education and school sport provision for SEND pupils working with PE leads, teachers, SENDCos and teaching assistants.

Inclusion 2024 is a programme funded by the Department of Education. Since 2022, we have hosted Inclusion Live week. Last year, over 800 people registered for the live virtual content, which was delivered by expert practitioners and young people with a focus on best practice of the inclusion of young people with SEND in PE, school sport and physical activity. The aim of the week was to develop greater knowledge, competence and confidence to provide meaningful and inclusive opportunities for young people with SEND. You can watch last year's sessions here.

Speaking about Inclusion Live 2025 our Development Manager for Inclusion, Kelly Gates, said the following - feel free to share this more widely.

"We know that providing accessible, inclusive and meaningful PE and School Sport opportunities are essential for every child.

"Inclusion Live is a fantastic opportunity for practitioners to access high quality, free training on inclusive practice and hear the latest innovations around SEND inclusion in PE and School Sport.

"I am looking forward to another great week of content and I hope you can join us for Inclusion Live 2025."
