Tell us about what do you currently do?
Currently I am in my 3rd year at Loughborough University on my Placement Year working with Loughborough Football as the Men’s Operations Coordinator for the 2023/24 season. I am currently on the FA National Youth Council for the 23/24 season as well as the Youth Board, both roles I thoroughly enjoy!!
Tell us about your sporting background?
My background is mainly in football having played from a very young age and coached since school. I still love to play but I don’t have as much time as I used to now so I also love to run. I used to compete in the triple jump at school but changed to more long-distance running during lockdown. I am a big fan of Formula 1 and generally will watch any sport.
What is your particular area of interest when it comes to accessing sport?
I think it is great to allow young people to inspire their peers to access physical activity. I am passionate about allowing young people to have a voice and helping facilitate conversations with young people to use that voice. Young people who lead their peers are phenomenal and I would love to encourage other young people to become role models for their peers.
Why did you want to become a member of the Youth Board?
I wanted to work with like-minded young people to be an ambassador, to help more young people access physical activity and be able to speak up about their experiences, both positive and negative.
If you could change one thing about sport or physical activity for young people, what would that be?
I would remove some of the poor, negative attitudes surrounding participation in some sports, so young people feel more able to take part.
Tell us a fun or interesting fact about yourself.
During the lockdown in summer 2020, I once ran four half marathons in seven days!
