Being a Team Leader

I found out about the programme through volunteering as a Young Ambassador Delivery Team member. Hazel told us about the opportunity, and I applied straight away! I have a real passion for sport and the benefits it can give you both physically and mentally. I loved having the opportunity to influence sport and physical activity in my local area as part of the Young Ambassador programme and was really keen to do this across the country. So far, I have learnt that I am a lot more confident than I thought I was in terms of leading activities for the young people and building relationships with them. I have learnt that no challenge is too big, and there is always going to be someone to support me.

Quick Fire Questions

If you could do any sport, what would it be?

I would have to say gymnastics. It is a sport that I have never been able to do, and I find it so impressive how effortless the gymnasts make it look.

What is your proudest sporting memory?

My proudest sporting memory was when I got selected to trial for Scotland U18s rugby! I had got selected from my performance at the regional championship, which I was really happy with. Lots of my friends got selected as well, which made the experience even better!
