If you are participating in the LTA, Inclusive Youth Leadership or SOGB Innovation projects, please can you email your dates for your festival to the SEND inbox as soon as possible.

School Games Spring County Meetings

At this point in the School Games calendar, each county will host a spring term county meeting, with an agenda set by the Youth Sport Trust School Games team following up from the regional conferences which took place in November 2024. This meeting is a fantastic opportunity for you to:

  • Network with the School Games Organisers and Active Partnership within your county to understand their confidence levels within inclusion, identify where their events are in their upcoming calendars and any support required.
  • Identify upcoming opportunities to develop their knowledge and confidence in inclusive practice; this could be signposting to webinars i.e. Inclusion Live, Disney Inspired Shooting Stars; setting goals to complete online CPD inclusive of All About Autism or IPE; or alternatively inviting SGOs to your own upcoming events to role model inclusive practice.
  • Set a county target to focus on for the next 6 months; what area for improvement could you work towards as a county? For example, identifying the schools with a high percentage of young people with SEND to target in upcoming events or completing a county MATP training session with Special Olympics in a target to increase provision for those with complex needs.

If you have not yet heard when your county meeting is taking place locally, please reach out to your County Lead Development Coach or the SEND inbox. For further help, support or if you have any questions, please reach out to the Inclusion Team.

These co-created tools, informed by children, young leaders, SGOs and teachers, will be tested and shared widely to ensure accessibility and inclusivity. Access Sport’s National Youth Board

Access Sport is recruiting young people (14-25 years) for their 2025 National Youth Board and regional Youth Voice Groups in London, Bristol and Manchester. This is a chance to make a difference in sports accessibility. Find more info here, apply by Friday 24 January at 5pm

Relay Your Way

This inclusive relay event from Glasgow to Windsor (June-July 2025) celebrates young people with disabilities. Schools along the route can host the baton, participate in a relay and learn about accessible sports. Schools not on the route can join virtually. Feedback from previous events has been overwhelmingly positive. It's a great opportunity to engage in a powerful nationwide event with an important and uplifting message at the end of the school year.
